Nottingham Arboretum
A beautiful day at the Arboretum helped the crowd swell as the band struck up. Playing a cornucopia of classics as well as a host of new pieces the band enjoyed entertaining such an appreciative audience.
Featured soloists included Paul Askew on euphonium playing Benedictus and then joined by David Pettit for Softly as I Leave You and Jeff Shaw on accordion (yes accordion). Playing two arrangements Tango pour Claude and Guardia Nueva for accordion and brass band Jeff wowed the assembled listeners.
Also joining us for his first concert was Richard Gowler on trombone. Richard has recently moved to Derby from North Ayrshire and is a very welcome addition to the trombone line.
